Together with my colleague, we are responsible for creating and implementing programs for all levels of EMS, putting together new and improved protocols, and education requirements. We are required to devise a system for maintaining certifications of staff and keeping them updated to any changes needed for those certifications. We are responsible for all quality assurance, chart reforms, performance improvement for staff as needed. I was on the frontline of patient care by collecting specimens from patients and refering those specimens to the proper channels for further testing. I was also able to discover the world of pathology, where I assisted on tissue collection from live and deceased samples. I spear-headed a program along with the laboratory manager to secure our services with several nursing homes.
