Lessons varied from one on one lessons to group lesson. Group lesson challenges included how to engage swimmers at various swimming ability levels and overall attention level so all swimmers benefitted from the lessons. I learned to balance how to please the parent and the student considering they often want different outcomes. As a lifeguard, to ensuring the safety of swimmers by guarding and enforcing rules, the role included pool open and close responsibilities, rental equipment management, and clearing/cleaning the pool deck. Taught age group swim lessons. Lessons were either private or group lesson. I learned to manage groups of kids with a variety of skill levels and learning desires and how to balance the parents wants and the students wants. I was often requested to continue teaching kids through the following sessions. I was also a lifeguard, opened and closed the pool, and worked as a cashier for the pool. Managers and peers looked to me as the expert on everything pool related. Taught age group swim lessons. Lessons were either private or group lesson.
