Reporting to the Chief of Staff, I am responsible for:• Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees, and managing employee relations (transfers, grievances, personnel matters)• Tracking the progress of ongoing projects throughout the City to meet deadlines and hold employees accountable• Monitoring and alerting appropriate personnel to incoming Open Public Record Act (OPRA) requests that relate to the Mayor, City Departments, and Personnel (in 2018, over 3,000 requests were processed)• Monitoring the responsiveness of City Departments to the requests and concerns of Jersey City residents through the See Click Fix reporting system• Creating, signing, and processing forms to change the status of city employees (including hiring, termination, transfer, leave of absence, title change, salary changes, etc.)• Editing Mayor Fulop’s State of the City address and letters to residentsDesigned, developed, and managing the Jersey City 2020 Census efforts:• Conceptualized and built a public installation - four sided (8X10ft) chalkboard – that invited the public to complete the sentence “I count because _____”. This installation was recognized by the Federal Census Bureau and was shared on their Instagram and Twitter as part of their education and marketing campaign. • Launched job fairs for Census workers in all six Wards in Jersey City• Organized and continue to manage a Mayor’s Office Task Force to focus on educating Jersey City residents on the upcoming CensusResearching and developing legislation on behalf of the administration, in coordination with the Law Department, independent organizations, and the City Council, on topics such as:• AirBnB regulations • The creation of a Shade Tree Committee• Sewerage connection fees

Summer 2015 and Summer 2016In Mayor Steven Fulop’s office, I worked with Deputy Mayor Vivian Brady-Philips and the Summer Works team to implement the Jersey City Summer Works initiative. I worked with a team to coordinate and implement the Jersey City Summer Internship Program (JCSI) and the Saturday Jump Start Program. I assist in the hiring, onboarding, placement, and payroll of 70 interns who are exemplary rising high school seniors. I work with a team to coordinate and implement weekly Professional Development Trainings to assist interns acclimate and excel at work. I helped create and now assist in the management of the budgets for the JCSI program and for the Saturday Jump Start program. I am the liaison with Jersey City businesses at which interns are placed. I also assist in the coordination and implementation of the Saturday Jump Start program, which provides free professional development training to Jersey City Youth ages 15 to 24.

I was an AmeriCorps Volunteer at Berkeley Youth Alternatives in the Career Development and Prevention Center. I worked on a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity (WIOA) program called Steps 2 Success, which is a workforce development program for out of school youth ages 16 to 24. I assisted youths with their job readiness skills, I helped youths find trainings on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL), and I helped youths find employment. In addition, I assisted Case Managers with filing and case management.
