Sep 2017 - Apr 2020
As a PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) Facilitator, I supported students in difficult first year courses including anthropology and economics. My role included attending course lectures and creating worksheets and activities for students based on course material. I also facilitated weekly workshops based on worksheets I created with the goals of encouraging student collaboration and independent learning, teaching important transferable academic skills, and helping students succeed in their post-secondary careers. Skills I built on in this role include, teaching and facilitation, mentorship, leadership, public speaking and interpersonal communication, creativity, independence, and time management.

SHAD Carleton Program Assistant

Jul 2019 - Jul 2019
SHAD Canada is a STEAM program for exceptional high school students, where they spend a month living in residence at a Canadian University, meeting like-minded students, attending innovative lectures and hands-on workshops, and conducting a design challenge based on real world issues. As a program assistant at SHAD Carleton in July 2019, I lived in residence with the cohort of 59 high school students from all over the country for the month. Over the course of the month, I supervised these students, planned and facilitated workshops and activities and acted as a role model for them. Through this experience I acquired a number of valuable skills including, teaching/facilitation, interpersonal communication, leadership, conflict resolution, responsibility, and resilience.
