In this role I supported the Director of the largest integrated special needs camping programme in the USA. As a 'Division Head' I was responsible for the health and well-being of up to 60 campers whom all had their own individual medical and behavioural needs. I also managed a team of 25 staff members who supervised the children on a daily basis. My position was also parent -facing and I was in regular contact with parents of the children to update them on their stay. The camp environment is fast paced and hectic, a sense of humour, exceptional organisation and being able to handle tense situations calmly and effectively are skills paramount to my position. Throughout the year I am also involved with the UK recruitment of staff for the entire NJY Camps organisation and take great responsibility in ensuring we hire the right staff. Show less
