My co-op opportunity with Walt Disney Imagineering allowed me to collaborate with interior designers working on the Rooms Team. I primarily worked on three major Disney Resort renovations, performing tasks such as assisting with Photoshop renderings, drawing custom FF&E in AutoCAD, going on various site visits, writing specifications, and originating graphic ideas for different design elements within different Walt Disney World Resort rooms. During my time at Gensler, I was responsible for creating several client presentations in InDesign, rendering design options in Photoshop, space planning, and helping assemble construction documents and specifications using Revit. I also assisted in modeling several design options in Revit for a client presentation, as well as using SketchUp to model frequently. In addition, on a team of three other interns, we were solely responsible for planning an affordable housing development in the city of Charlotte and presenting weekly progress to a member of the county. While co-oping at Rockwell Group, I worked in AutoCAD frequently and helped contribute to custom furniture drawing packages as well as drawing and editing floor plans. I assisted in rendering floor plans and elevations in Photoshop and put together FF&E client presentations in InDesign. I also was responsible for part of a project venue on my own under the supervision of the project manager, in which I worked on space planning and sourcing architectural and FF&E finishes.
