Emily and I have worked together for a few years now at MicroD. When we launched a new product, Digital Marketing Services, to compliment our website solutions, Emily and I worked very closely together. Sales and Marketing do not always get along - there can be competing agendas and needs - but it didn't take long for me to figure out that Emily is VERY sharp. I was immediately impressed with her Marketing IQ and early on was learning a LOT from her even though I was the more tenured MicroD employee. Conversely, Emily was quick to ask for thoughts, opinions, advice and input from me...A SALESPERSON. My respect for her role, her insight and just plain common sense has only grown over the years. Emily and I are both fast thinkers and doers and if we can cut the red tape out of a process, we do. True Story: At some point within her first year, there was some tension between a former Sales VP and some Marketing executives within our company. Perhaps things that were said or conveyed at the executive level made it seem like the "sales team" and the "marketing team" were at odds. It surprised everyone to know that Emily and I were two peas in a pod and constantly sharing ideas and working together seamlessly. We had no idea folks in executive positions thought there was any friction with us..it became a bit of a joke. To this day, and I appreciate all of my colleagues, but I will trust Emily's opinion and thoughts first. I've seen too many positive results, felt the impact of her marketing led efforts and over the past 2 years have set sales records for recurring revenue in large part because of Emily and her hard work, adaptability, data driven decisions and good old fashioned common sense. Emily is a extremely valued...maybe THE KEY member... of our Marketing team.
