Connect is a youth and schools work project based in Mid Devon. It provides the learning opportunity for youth workers just starting on their journey, and providing support and a sense of community to the young people that may be struggling with their faith, or wanting to grow further in the tough teenage years. A vital part of Connect is reaching out to young people that are so spread out due to the landscape of rural Mid Devon. As a Connect worker I spent a great deal of time travelling to as many youth clubs and Churches as well as Chulmleigh Community College to help the young people feel supported both in their college and in their own communities. An active evangelical church, we have a church family that is an effective mix of ages, from the very young to the much more senior in years and we value greatly the contribution each brings to our worship, outreach and service. As an intern I served the Church community by helping run and lead several of the youth groups and other events in the church including those for the elderly.
