During my short time at Exclusive, my key responsibilities included: - Managing the F&B team - Delivering guest satisfaction through high quality service and good public relations. - Ensuring daily briefings with all teams are carried out fully. - Consistently delivering company standards - Set-up and run all events to a high standard. Unfortunately, this position was much more on-the-floor than it was originally sold to me as. Despite having a passion for operations, I also have a love of planning and sales and desired a job that also lent into these fields too. Around this time I decided to take a few months out to plan and go travelling throughout Asia and Australasia but just as I started, COVID-19 and the pandemic hit and my plans came to a halt. As a family-owned and family-run company, Bijou have been helping couples bring their wedding dreams to life for over 20 years. During my time at Bijou, I have been a part of an on-the-job management training programme with exposure to all sides of the business. This has resulted in giving me a thorough grounding and experience in everything that is involved in the management side of events. • Fully Trained Operations Manager – (running a venue and the events taking place within it. This includes hiring staff, maintaining good relationships with suppliers and customers, creating rotas and managing a team of staff including waiting staff, maintenance staff, and supervisors.) • Fully Trained Sales Manager – (with responsibilities that include conducting sales visits, assigning sales territories, setting quotas, mentoring members of the sales team, assigning sales training, building a sales plan, hiring and firing sales staff.) • Fully Trained Admin/Planning Manager – (running the day to day office and the staff within this as well as working with clients to plan their entire event/day with them.) • Fully Trained Marketing and Branding Manager – (developing marketing strategies, coordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities, preparing online and print marketing campaigns, analysing potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing, planning and implementing promotional campaigns.) • Exposure to and experience in Scheduling, HR and Recruitment. Topgolf is a global premier golf entertainment complex where the competition of sport meets your favourite local hangout spot that connects a community of nearly 100 million fans to create meaningful ways through the experiences they create. As an Event Host it was my responsibility to lead the events held on site and to ensure that they were hosted to the highest possible service and hospitality standards. During my time here I gained knowledge of how to lead, supervise and prepare a range of different events whilst being able to work in time limited, high pressure situations at the same time as keeping a high level of attention to detail and being able to see the bigger picture to create moments that matter for every guest. My time at Topgolf helped me gain communication and leadership skills due to having to constantly keep the other departments on site informed of all the timings and events going on, preparing all events and items needed in advance to the start time and date and hosting them with hospitality being the main focus so all guests can enjoy their experience with us, and helping to train new associates to run their own events. This role was fast paced and required me to be on my toes at all times as quick problem solving was key if any issues arose during strict time frames for preparation and hosting.
