At my time at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel, I had to carry out daily tasks for both the restaurant and for any functions that were to be carried out. I prepared bread in the morning, products for the TDH menu, á la carte menu and afternoon tea. I am a well organised person, in which I always use my time management skills to guarantee all tasks are completed on time. I ensured that there was constant communication between the restaurant staff, the restaurant chefs and the function chefs. I worked as a team as this was essential in order for tasks to be completed efficiently and correctly, when needed I worked on my own to carry out tasks.

May 2011 - Aug 2011
As a part time Sales Assistant at Greggs, I was given a wide range of responsibilities and trusted with several tasks. My tasks included setting up the shop in the morning, loading up the bake-off ready for baking, prepared sandwiches, ensured all health and safety regulations were followed and managed the tills whilst serving customers. I worked as part of a small team which improved my team working skills. I also enhanced my communication skills, due to working as an effective team to complete tasks on time. I was also given training in areas such as health and safety, manual handling and fire safety.

Whilst working at John Lewis I was responsible for stock control within my area, restocking shelves, dealing with customers and cash handling. During many of these tasks, I worked alone showing that I was trusted within my role to operate effectively as an individual. My main role at Marks and Spencer as a part time Sales Assistant varied from arranging the visual displays, to dealing and serving customers. These tasks enabled me to build my communication skills as it was important that I communicated effectively with customers and understood their needs.
