  In my role as Community Manager at Groundwork Wakefield I manage a team of 6 community development officers to deliver locally initiated projects community and youth engagement projects empowering local communities to participate in sustainable regeneration initiatives in their neighbourhoods.The Community Team attracts funding from a variety of sources including contracts, commissions and grant applications from both the public and private sector and other charitable trusts.My role also involves:Developing relationships at a strategic level with public, private and third sector partners.Managing and monitoring the team’s budget to ensure spend is achieved and the budget is met. Project managing events and activities to allow community members to become more actively engaged in the improvement of their local environment.Carrying out community consultation activities with the results influencing the design and development of environmental improvements.Conducting evaluation of projects and the work carried out by the team to continuously improve the work which is carried out. Monitoring the teams key performance indicators and project performance measure and ensuring the team meets targets.Securing new contracts and exploring new areas of work.Preparing and submitting grant applications.Working with other Groundwork team managers to ensure cross team working and maximising the offer we can provide clients and stakeholders.
