I have the privilege of working with Miranda during her tenure at the City of Meridian, and it is with great enthusiasm that I recommend her. Miranda has been a key asset to Meridian, consistently demonstrating a high level of dedication, expertise, and professionalism that shines in every interaction. Miranda's contributions have improved our city's livability, sustainability, and overall quality of life. Through her strategic planning initiatives, she has helped shape Meridian into a more vibrant and forward-thinking community. One of Miranda's standout qualities is her exceptional communication skills. She possesses a unique ability to translate intricate technical details into understandable language for a wide range of stakeholders, including city leaders, residents, and businesses. Her talent for bridging the gap between complex planning concepts and practical understanding has been instrumental in garnering support and engagement for our city's projects. Furthermore, Miranda has taken on leadership roles overseeing critical initiatives such as the Meridian Intersection and Pedestrian Safety (MIPS) Task Force and the Meridian Transportation Commission. In these capacities, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication, providing valuable guidance and expertise to navigate the evolving needs of our city. She consistently brings fresh ideas and insights to the table, enhancing the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts. Miranda's positive impact extends beyond our organization, as she has built a strong foundation of professional relationships across the Treasure Valley. Her ability to work seamlessly with partners in transportation and education has been pivotal in driving forward the interconnected goals for our community.

I had the distinct pleasure of being on the hiring committee that selected Miranda Carson to be the West Ada School District’s Transportation Liaison and then the even greater privilege of working closely with her in that role. While Miranda!s interview was exceptional, her work for the district exceeded my expectations. Her understanding of transportation planning issues is excellent. She came into the district just as the West Ada had decided to contract with an outside vendor to run our bus system. The transition on was not smooth or easy, but through her leadership Miranda was able to show the contractor how to improve its services to the point that with her efforts, I would describe West Ada’s busing as the safest, most efficient, and most importantly, with the greatest parent satisfaction that I experienced in more than 20 years with West Ada. Her work improving transportation was very much appreciated by the Board of Trustees, the school district administration, and the parents. For me, however, the real treasure was the planning skills Miranda brought to the district. I am responsible for much of the demographic planning for the school system. I used ArcGIS as my primary planning tool in that effort. For me, Miranda provided the best resource for better ways to use this tool than I had found in the 15 years doing demographic planning for West Ada. I recruited her to be on the attendance area committee, which uses ArcGIS to determine student populations by geographic area. The data is used to change school attendance areas to balance student enrollment as well as to project future school needs. Miranda’s knowledge of ArcGIS and clear thinking about planning proved to be a tremendous asset. Because of her knowledge and background, she was able to streamline the planning process while also generating more and better data upon which to make planning decisions. In short, she provided planning methods that continue to be used in West Ada today. Had Miranda not decided to move back east to be closer to family, my intention was to use her skills to start building a full-time planning department under her leadership. Unfortunately for West Ada, that opportunity was lost with her departure. Her skill set is unique and varied. I have never met someone who is more naturally attracted to data and spreadsheets. She uses her curiosity and intellect to use this data in very productive and creative ways. It is my honor to offer my highest recommendation for Miranda Carson. She proved to be a tremendous asset to the West Ada School District during her five year tenure working for our organization Eric Exline Former Chief Communications Officer West Ada School District
