Peoples Flowers is one of the largest retail florists in the southwest. They have 5 locations serving the Albuquerque area and have been around for over 70 years. It is a local and family owned business that offers floral arrangements for pick up and delivery. While there, I took customer orders, handled customer complaints, managed incoming and outgoing orders as well as managed the website and the products on the web. Photographed, edited and uploaded floral arrangement products, handled SEO and optimization for the website. I also facilitated much of the bridal marketing and acted as a third party point of contact for the Teleflora network service for our customers.

The Albuquerque Job Corps center is an Employment Training Facility funded by the U.S. Department of Labor for At-Risk and disadvantaged youth. They offer job training, job placement and a residential program that focuses on independent living and responsibilities. While there, I was the Independent Living advisor in two of the dormitories before being asked to start a special project that focused on Employability skills for brand new students and acclimation into the Job Corps culture of the Albuquerque Center. We filled their free time with projects that enhanced their knowledge of employability skills, got them to interact with their new co-workers and had a center orientation. The program piloted and statistically, the center found that they were able to retain student trainees much longer than before. The program became part of the SOP and was an example to several other centers in the region.
