Operations Business Manager
-
Oct 2018 - Aug 2021
Working across both the shared service operations functions and the Capita Resourcing business as a whole I deliver as an active trouble-shooter, accountable for multiple workstreams of activity. I am focussed on increasing our commercial viability and enhancing client experience when engaging with the operations functions, and responsible for transformation and business change across these areas. I am responsible for the communication and compliance of legislative updates and changes and work closely with the Capita Resourcing sales functions to advise on these areas. I have built and delivered advisory, consultancy and partner-venture offerings in line with the 2021 IR35 reform. As the Capita Resourcing business IR35 SME I use my personal experience of IR35 transformation in the public sector to support organisations with developing their IR35 strategy ahead of the 2021 changes and have contributed to numerous resources on this subject. Client Relationship Specialist
-
Oct 2016 - Jan 2018
As a result of my strong relationship-building and customer service skills, keen eye for detail and thorough knowledge of operations surrounding the contracting process, a role was created for me within the Network Rail account team which allowed me to focus on: • Internal process developments to best fit the requirements of the client, following reviews and discussions supporting the Relationship Management team and Account Director • Financial and data analysis which allowed me to reduce the account debt and resolve long-standing queries surrounding rates and payments, and deliver a higher quality of information to our client • Updates on government legislation – the legislation which affects contractors (especially those within the public sector) is frequently reviewed and means that both Capita and Network Rail have to amend processes and reassure workers. I worked with the Account Director and Compliance Team to ensure any changes were adhered to and communicated across the workforce and client. • Management of adhoc projects which allowed me to raise my profile both internally and externally • Supporting the RBPs on site to increase visibility and to allow our team to focus on a more strategic approach to our service, whilst ensuring that the client is not neglected. Vendor Recruitment Coordinator (via Capita Business Services)
-
Apr 2015 - Oct 2016
Network Rail is the not for profit owner and operator of Britain’s railway infrastructure. They aim to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient railway for freight and passenger trains. Today, rail is a success story. There are more journeys than at any time, with the exception of the two world wars – 3.25 million every day and 1.3 billion a year. Though the network is half the size it was before the 1960s, more trains run every day than ever before. Rail is no longer an industry in decline, but one expanding and planning with confidence. Network Rail have achieved some notable successes which have given their stakeholders confidence that they can deliver. In Scotland the railway between Airdrie and Bathgate has been re-opened, on time and to budget. Improvements to the London Overground have allowed longer trains to run more often, helping transform Stratford station into a fitting gateway to the Olympic Park. Network Rail was reclassified from the private sector to the public sector on 1 September 2014 following changes to European statistical guidance. They retain the commercial and operational freedom to manage Britain’s railway infrastructure within effective regulatory and control frameworks. As a Recruitment Coordinator I worked in a very busy team and was made responsible for: • Managing two separate inboxes, including a high volume of requests and queries • Developing and implementing a process for registering pre-named workers ahead of the Onboarding stage, with over 300 of these placements made over the first three months. • Completing requests for ‘Short-Term Professional Hires’ within very limited timeframes due to their urgent nature, which includes liaising with Requesters and Suppliers. • Supporting the wider delivery team by scheduling interviews, managing projects and systems support Show less
