I worked directly adolescent aged 11-17 , providing support for them and their families. My involvement would be due to reported safeguarding concerns for the young person/people. I had to manage my own diary and prioritise any emergencies. I arranged and chaired meetings with other professionals who were involved with the individuals and there families, this required me to be very organised and managing my time effectively as my team covered a large area of Cambridgeshire. I was responsible for writing assessments, I was required to gathering information for other agencies and families in order to ensure the person and their families were getting the most appropriate support. This meant to had to use my great communication skills both verbally an in writing to make sure the information I gathering was accurate and useful. Within the role you have to be adaptable and responsive to any high risk situations. This meant that I had to be a strong member of the team to support or resolve and emergencies The role also required a lot a administration, recording all visits, meetings and any other communications about younger people and their families. Keeping up to date and responding to both my own and also a team email Show less

I worked within the MASH (multi agency safegaurding hub). My main role was taking referrals from professioanls and concerned memebers of the public about childrens saftey / well-being. The referral would be taken via the telphone and email. This required exterem accuracy when uploading information to the soical care system. Communication skills needed to very good in order to obtain the most information possible regarding the child/children and what the safegurading concerns were. It was also very important to have a non-judgemental approach and record information as it was reported This role required me to work at a fast pace as we would receive hunderds of referrals a week, all of which would have timescales that needed to be adhered to.Within this role I had to deal with very sensitive information which required a high level of confidentiallity Show less
