After a formal position was created, I worked as the Intake Coordinator for Reintegration Services. With years of taking on leadership roles, I was promoted to Team Leader of the Department of Outpatient Day Treatment Services. I oversee the day treatment admissions and discharges. I assess clients referred to the program, complete and process intake forms, set up transportation and assign each client to the best fit group based off their assessment. Additionally, I work alongside the Partial Hospitalization Program to assess clients who are decompensating or have just been discharged from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization to qualify for stabilization in the intensive program. Lastly, I am able to assist my supervisor in completing tasks and leading the team in her absence. I have been able to train employees in using Electronic Medical Record Systems (TIER5/TIER8), completing prior authorizations, and Medicare/Medicaid documentation. I have a predisposition towards taking a leadership role throughout my experience at the center and I enjoy working as a team to better provide for our population. I run and organize the annual Art Class and subsequent Art Show. I am also able to lead in the event and party planning committee within our outpatient program. I have volunteered to receive supplementary education through South East Florida Behavioral Health Network to better serve the LGBTQ+ population as an LGBTQ Liaison. With this, I was able to create and Open Forum and Discussion with each outpatient group to discuss Safety, Respect, and Tolerance of the LGBTQ+ community as well as a basic education on LGBTQ+ vocabulary and issues. Additionally, I have made myself available to clients within our program to meet individually if ever they need additional support. During the Fall of 2013 I volunteered myself at Hamlin Place, a skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility. I worked along side the Humana Case Manager in taking mini-mental exams and outpatient surveys. In doing so, I learned a lot about the aging population and what being an Elder Case Manager entails.
