Senior Thesis Student as of January 2023REU: Developing Social Minds Intern, May-August 2023In the lab, I'm the primary experimenter for my thesis project, "Decoding Dog-Human Eye Contact", where I run trials with participating dogs and log their data. Using the behavioral coding software BORIS, I code trial recordings for behaviors of interest to be used in data analysis. This upcoming year, I will be writing my thesis.Additional tasks I do in the lab include literature searches and reviews, programming using the software R, conducting initial lab visits to determine the eligibility of dogs to participate, behavioral "blind coding" for other research projects, and assistance in the development of future projects. This summer, I was an REU student with the Developing Social Minds program at Boston College, where I received additional preparatory programming for graduate school. Throughout the summer, I was exposed to several guest speakers, PI panels, and one-on-one mentorship. I was also given the ability to craft a personal statement and give an ending presentation on what I've learned. Show less
