I started at Coles as a Junior Customer Service Team Member, and I was a Senior Customer Service Supervisor. In this role, I mostly worked in the Service Desk running shifts. This position has taught me how to escalate elevated situations with unsatisfied customers and how to ensure both my team and customers are kept safe and are respected while handling a situation. I improved my leadership skills through being a Supervisor at Coles. I started at Coles as a Junior Customer Service Team Member, and I was a Senior Customer Service Supervisor. In this role I worked closely with student clubs and societies, assisting them with the affiliation process, event approval and grant requests. I worked towards campaigning for students with any issues they raised to us. I ran and assisted with events for students during the bi-annual Orientation Week and Free Brunches each week for all students. Working in this role during COVID 19 was very interesting and challenging. I was required to stay informed of the government's most up to date information regarding COVID 19 restrictions and pass this information on to student clubs and societies, and ensure they understood and were following all of the required rules they faced. I learnt so much from this role, I now have an understanding of how meetings are run correctly, I learnt the importance of making sure each and every student has their voice heard and ensure it is heard by the University. I am forever grateful for this role, the people I worked with and the new people I met. This is by far the most diverse and safe work environment I have ever been apart and I now have a new understanding and higher standard for workplaces when it comes to this. Show less

I am very grateful to have begun my working life at 15 at KFC. Working at a fast-food restaurant taught me everything from teamwork to working with accuracy and efficiency. I worked mostly serving customers through the 'drive-thru' and front counter, as well as packing orders and making meals. I demonstrated a strong knowledge of store services, products, and policies, and informed customers of sales and promotions. I delivered fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service for routine questions and service complaints, greeted customers upon entrance and handled cash and credit transactions. Show less
