    • Summer Research Intern
      • May 2019 - Sep 2019

I have been a member of this research group since the beginning of my freshman year in 2018. I was given the opportunity to be a paid research intern for the summer of 2019. I worked 40 hours weeks in the lab, being able to dedicate this much uninterrupted time to working in the lab allowed me to become more independent with the project I was working on with my graduate student. I am now able to independently run Circular Dichroism, Mass Spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering, Nano Drop Protein Quantification and I am able prepare and rehydrate proteoliposome samples. I have also grasped a proficient understanding of peptide synthesis via an automated peptide synthesizer, and of HPLC protein purification. Along with this I also gained a more finite understanding of pinholin proteins and protein mutations, as that was a main focus for the project I work/ed on. Show less

I Nannied for a family of three children for two summers. I also occasionally babysat for the family throughout the school year. It was a family of three young children including one baby. I love children and this experience allowed me to work and have fun. I practiced patience, creativity, assertiveness, understanding, compasion, multitasking, and organization while serving as a nanny. I Nannied for a family of three children for two summers. • Gordy's Marine
    • Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, United States
    • Food Service Worker
      • Mar 2014 - Jan 2016

At Gordy's I worked as a host, food runner and en expo. I gained the most experience working as an expo as I was in charge of communicating with the kitchen on behalf of all weight staff. I was in charge of making sure all of the food came up correctly and went out to the customers in a timely fashion. I was in charge of all of the food runners and managing them to bring the food out to the correct tables at the correct time. This was a very overwhelming and stressful role. I learned to multitask at a fast pace, how to be assertive, to be responsible, and to take charge of a situation when needed. Food Service is not something I ever plan to make. a career out of but I think it is something that everyone should work in, as it made me a better employee because of the good platform of employability skills I was able to gain.
