Met with Forensic Chemistry professors regularly; prepared materials and directed lab experiments for several classes by setting up instrumentation and demonstrating procedures. Oversaw the Crime Scene Investigation laboratory by maintaining a clean lab, managing the lab schedule, setting up materials, and helping Forensic Science students with individual lab experiments. Supervised and trained another teaching assistant in lab procedures and instrumentation. Analyzed various customer samples using DART in combination with Thermo Exactive, Waters QDa, and JEOL AccuTOF mass spectrometers. Compared several approaches for quantitative analysis and created chemometric models in addition to preparing reports to share results with customers. As part of a small forensics-based research group under Dr. Adam Hall of Northeastern University, I conducted research for my undergraduate project using DART-MS to analyze the use of kitchen spices as an organic powder for improvised explosives. Created and presented a poster at RISE 2016 at Northeastern University, and helped with the writing of a paper published in Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry. As a freshman, I helped with a graduate student's thesis project studying the… Show more As part of a small forensics-based research group under Dr. Adam Hall of Northeastern University, I conducted research for my undergraduate project using DART-MS to analyze the use of kitchen spices as an organic powder for improvised explosives. Developed a procedure for extracting terpenes from hemp oil samples and created various GC-MS methods for analyzing cannabis terpenes and PAHs using the G908, a compact High Pressure MS (HPMS) analyzer. Routinely traveled off-site to a medical marijuana testing lab to set up a G908, optimize liquid and headspace analysis of marijuana samples, and provide demonstrations to the customer. Tuned, calibrated, and evaluated the G908, and analyzed both raw and processed data.
