Emily was a lifesaver for the first few months with our newborn son. Highly recommend for first-time parents or busy families with new little ones.

A safe space to ask questions and discuss the hopes and fears of pregnancy and childbirth. Meet other expectant parents and build community and build on knowledge from childbirth classes.

Assisting families during those extraordinary months before, during, and after childbirth is inspiring work. My guiding philosophy is to support people in finding the path to parenthood that is right for them, making their unique journey a positive one. As a Birth Doula I provide prenatal counseling and accompany women during labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying experience. I draw on my professional training to provide reassurance and perspective, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort. As a Postpartum Doula my role includes infant and child care, wellness counseling, meal planning & preparation, physical postpartum healing and recovery, and processing the events of the birth. A large part of my role is also education. I share information about baby care with parents, as well as teach siblings and partners to “mother the mother.” As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I assist with breastfeeding education and provide support and assessment when needed. I make certain that mothers have a variety of local resources available for any situation, and provide referrals to other professionals for those challenges outside my scope of practice. I am independent and self-employed. I will not make decisions for parents. I do not replace nurses or other medical staff. I do not perform clinical or medical tasks. Show less
