Assistant to John Barton, Associate Director
-
Jan 1999 - Dec 2000
I worked with John Barton in the final year of writing, the pre-production and production phase of his 10-play epic cycle, 'Tantalus', an RSC/Denver Centre for the Performing Arts co-production, directed by Sir Peter Hall and Edward Hall. I was responsible for script edits, re-writes and was present in Denver throughout the 7 month rehearsal phase and opening. I was responsible for the final proofing and delivery of the script to John's publisher's, Oberon Books. During my time in Denver I assisted with production coordination for the documentary 'The Shakespeare Sessions', a US follow-up to his internationally acclaimed series 'Playing Shakespeare' that featured John Barton and Sir Peter Hall working with some of the finest film, television and theatrical acting talent in the USA. The documentary was shot in New York and Denver.
