Founder director working with clients in local authorities, real estate, construction, Government and the creative industries. Delivering high intensity projects with multiple stakeholders, physical improvements and workstreams in a dedicated and considerate way to achieve maximum employment and placemaking benefits. We deliver this through development and management of temporary spaces, and other consultancy and capacity building work. My role includes: • Company administrative duties across the group of companies operating as Meanwhile Space including Meanwhile Space CIC, Meanwhile Space Social Enterprise Ltd and High Street Works Ltd, and affiliated companies White Rock Neighbourhood Ventures and Unlimited Meanwhile Ltd. • All organisational duties including leading a team of eleven staff; strategic direction, marketing, HR, raising capital, business planning, impact assessment, premises and payroll • Designing and delivering multi-faceted projects, overall budget control and directing project managers to deliver promised outcomes • Authoring innovative Urban Design, and strategic planning reports for Local Authority officers, politicians, masterplanners and development trusts • Speaking widely on meanwhile uses at conferences to occupants, landlords and regeneration practitioners • Negotiations with landlords to occupy space, drafting leases, insurance and handling bureaucracies • Lobbying government and drafting new legislation relating to meanwhile activity • Facilitating workshop sessions and leading training courses • Teaching on the MA Urban Design Course at Sheffield University’s School of Architecture, contributing papers for Urban Design and trade publications, including RUDI and the Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal Show less
