This role has been my most challenging and fulfilling to date. My main role is to support the administrative and planning side of the Tele-Rehab 2.0 project, a groundbreaking project designed to provide rehabilitation services to remote and rural Albertans closer to home. In this role, I have developed skills in pitching, meeting management, task management, prioritization, and marketing. I am learning about website design and promotion, video editing, VoiceOver, and more. I am implementing our communications and promotional strategy for the project, aimed at engaging government and health care providers in the work that we are doing. In my role as Project Coordinator, I am responsible for managing and supervising any students or staff, ensuring project milestones are met, coordinating appointments, and supervising and providing technical support throughout these appointments. I also assist with grant writing and am actively engaged in seeking additional support and sites for us to implement the Tele-Rehab 2.0 platform. Show less

      • May 2019 - Present

This position has two components; support to patients and their families, and administrative tasks for Patient and Family Centered Care. This role has allowed me to explore compassion and kindness on a level I have never been able to before. Seeing the resilience of patients and families is a daily reminder of the power of human beings, and provides me with the resolve I need to push through my every day struggles. Additionally, this role affords me more creative avenues, such as designing displays, posters, and brochures, and also permits the maintenance of my administrative skills. Show less

ELIXR is a not-for-profit association created to build a bridge that links a network of Alberta postsecondary institutions with a rapidly growing community of xR industry partners, enabling Alberta’s content experts to create simulations and learning experiences in xR that can be distributed worldwide. My role includes administration, accounting, communication, and coordination. Start up culture requires flexibility, and our ELIXR Team is nothing if not adaptable. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish together. Show less

During my time at Lorac Construction, I was given extensive opportunities for growth. I worked in the accounting role for 11 months, and then transferred to work as a receptionist and administrative assistant for the office for 7 months. In both roles, I was given opportunities to improve my technical writing skills, and was exposed to the process for preparation and submission of multi-million dollar tenders. I became proficient in the use of Sage accounting software, and was exposed to the duties of accounts payable and receivable for a small business. I learned a lot about the construction process, how to read technical specifications, and many practical office skills such as cold calling, product sourcing, and use of office equipment. Show less

Alongside normal restaurant cleaning and care duties, I strive to give my customers the best experience possible through working with the hostess, busboy and kitchen. A big part of being a waitress for me is the personal interactions with each customer, while giving them everything in a timely manner. From this position I have improved my communications skills, as well as my ability to manage multiple tasks at once. I really enjoy the interaction I get to have with patrons. The Alberta Hotel Bar and Kitchen is a farm-to-table restaurant striving to provide honest and good food to its patrons, and as a server there, I hope to give the same. My outgoing demeanour and honesty helps guests feel at ease in the space, and allows them to relax and enjoy their meal at a leisurely pace. As well as ensuring customer satisfaction, I also work to maintain a clean and elegant space in the restaurant, as well as working closely with the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and happy work environment. Toast Fine Catering is a diverse company that caters throughout the week to any and all customer needs, but on Saturdays also runs the concession at the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, where we have come to be known as one of the best providers of brunch in the city. I work only on those Saturdays, where I not only manage the front of the kitchen, monitoring completion of orders and making sure we don't run out of food, but also take orders from the hundreds of customers that come through each day. My main role is customer satisfaction, through taking orders and ensuring that the customer not only gets what they ordered but what they wanted. I also make sure that the staff interacts well and works as a team. I work closely with the cooks, food preparation workers and other service staff to ensure a happy and efficient environment. I receive great enjoyment from my interactions with the hundreds of customers I talk with each work day, and look forward to seeing my regulars every Saturday morning. Show less
