Jewellery Salesperson
-
2017 - Present
Working in a small independent jewellery shop in Stoke Newington. Not only selling jewellery but learning about the cultural importance of jewellery to people. Aided clients in having commissions made for them, giving them advice as to the quality of different products and made sure to ask how their day was going. Another important aspect of this was working within a small but strong team. With Roger the Jeweller taking on a lot of commissions, repairs and creating pieces for the shop - my role included passing on necessary messages from clients, giving feedback, making beaded pieces myself and managing the social media posts. Co President

Sep 2021 - Jun 2022
Oversaw the content for our new website with a virtual library and key information about our society. Organised the running of two incredibly successful fundraisers that brought people together. Organised the running of our monthly bookclub with different themes touching on decolonising cultures in the private and public spheres. Worked with our other Co-President who was in Malaysia to create both online and in-person events for accessibility. Worked within the KCLSU LGBT+ Network to organise an event with SexpressionKCL and King’s LGBT+ society on HIV/AIDS awareness day. Additionally collaborated with the Intersectional Feminist Society, KCLACS, KCL Eco Soc and KCL DJ society to host a variety of enriching events including three external speakers! Used social media to help people develop their own insights and share with others. Within our team we created and had 15 more societies sign a petition to ratify the South Asian Law Society after they were denied by the KCLSU, which favoured the European Law Society. Show less
