Work Experience - Designer

As part of a university module I worked with Apatchy London to design and make their first athleisure collection. I was responsible for designing and making both mens and womenswear as a team, fitting and design alterations, sizing charts, answering queries about the garments, creating manufacturing specifications and creating and editing patterns using Gerber software. I learnt a great deal about working as part of a design team and what it takes to be an effective team. I completed a month of work experience at Cope and Vale, assisting in the production of leather bags and accessories. I mainly helped with the manufacture of bags which included finishing the products and ensuring that they were ready to be presented to the client. I gained a good insight into the fashion industry and the production methods of leather accessories.
