The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is the voice of regions and cities in the European Union (EU). It represents local and regional authorities across the European Union and advises on new laws that have an impact on regions and cities (70% of all EU legislation). The five political Priorities of CoR are: 1. A fresh start for the European economy with its goal of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth which has local and regional communities at its heart; 2. The territorial dimension of EU legislation matters; 3. A simpler more connected Europe, where the idea of trust and partnerships within the European Union by its citizens is built up through the local level; 4. Stability and cooperation within and outside of the European Union; 5. Europe of the citizens is Europe of the Future, where the citizens of Europe are the priority. I am a trainee in the Cabinet of the First Vice-President, Markku Markkula. As Markku Markkula's trainee, I worked closely with the theme of promoting innovation, partnerships, networks and collaboration at the local and regional level within the europe and with the european eastern partners and new potential partners. Korean Sharing Movement (KSM) is the oldest and biggest South Korean NGO that has been working with the Minister of Unification for a peaceful Korean Peninsula. KSM was founded in 1996 when severe food shortages in the DPRK became known to the global community. Since then KSM has expanded its mission to structurally improving the DPRK’s humanitarian situation by focusing on development projects in the fields of agriculture and public health, etc. KSM also promote inter-Korean exchanges and cooperative projects to enhance mutual understanding between the two Koreas. Through those activities, KSM strives to rise above animosity and conflict, and establish peace and reconciliation in the Korean Peninsula.
