It’s hard to put into words how awesome it was to work with Emi. She is the embodiment of everything I look for in a great QA. She’s dedicated to shipping quality, customer-focused products, cares for the user, holds herself accountable, and hard working. When I joined Leafly she was our only QA. She was responsible for an entire suite of products from consumer web and native apps to admin client tools. Her institutional knowledge of how things work and their history was instrumental in helping me get up to speed and contributed to why she is so good at her job. Eventually we hired more QA and she showed she could work just as well if not better within a team. When testing, she not only verifies all the functionality is there, but also if it’ll be intuitive or confusing for the user. She also understands there’s a balance between bug-free and shipping features, and uses good judgment to determine which issues are show stoppers and which could be fixed in the next version. Her stamp of approval carried weight and I could ship confidently because of it. Emi has the ability to multitask well, and is able to do it well under pressure. Multiple times she was asked to take extra duties like testing other products last minute or handling bug reports from clients/users. She was able to verify, triage, and file tickets quickly and accurately and would raise the alarm if anything was truly critical. I rank Emi amongst the top QA folks I’ve ever worked with. Any company would be lucky to have her join their ranks. I’m going to miss working side by side to ship great products and I’m proactively jealous of wherever she ends up.
