In 2009, I returned to Washington, D.C. for a writing sabbatical as a visiting scholar and then fellow with The George Washington University (GW) Law School while continuing in practice. Since then, I have worked in solo and collaborative practice on intellectual property and other federal matters and on global technology transactions for private and referred clients. Reported to vice president of intellectual property legal affairs and senior intellectual property counsel. Close collaborations with executive and senior business leads. • Litigation – Key contributor to $47M+ in patent royalty income. Built and led complex IP rights flow analysis team for Rule 11 compliance and superior defensive strategies. Supported in patent defense against AT&T and others; patent assertions against Taiwanese, Korean, and American IT companies in ITC and federal courts; and other matters as to IBM, Lenovo, Sony, and others. • Contract Compliance – Built IP licensing compliance function, developing best monitoring and royalty payment and reporting verification practices.
