Emile’s charismatic Professionalism and innovative spirit increased efficiency and reduced cost constantly.

Samuel Dielwart, P.Eng

I had the pleasure working under Emile when he was managing the Seven Generations Energy completions group in Grande Prairie. I worked on Emile’s team for 2 years where we oversaw the engineering and operations of the completions group. I learned a tremendous amount from Emile in all aspects of completions, specifically in hydraulic fracturing. He was a great leader and mentor to the whole team and always made sure everyone was heard. Emile is great at engaging the team to come up with the best possible plans to solve problems. As a team member or a leader, Emile earns my highest recommendation.

      • 2018 - 2021

Led and developed engineering team in designing, executing, and evaluating drilling of 200+ horizontal wells with a budget of $200M+. Prepared management reports, drilling budgets, forecasts, and KPI analyses.• Reduced drilling costs and days per well 10% YOY by implementing value-enhancing technologies and optimizing the basis of design, including mud, motor and bit selection, and casing.• Delivered spending under budget and on time every year through highly effective planning and cost control.• Achieved a low Total Recordable Injury Frequency (TRIF) of under 0.7 by collaborating with field and HSE teams to continuously improve Emergency Response Plan, track and analyze HSE trends, and carry out field safety stand-downs.• Trained and coached team on simulation software and developing innovative solutions, building capabilities and improving operational efficiencies (e.g. well costs).

    • Drilling Engineer
      • 2016 - 2018

Oversaw engineering and simultaneous operation of up to 8 rigs (200+ wells). Produced offset analysis, AFEs, stick diagrams, DWOPs, and drilling programs in accordance with industry regulation.• Increased drilling rate by 10%+ YOY by optimizing drilling muds, adjusting drilling parameters, and improving bit design and motor configurations.• Achieved 10% YOY casing cost reduction by selecting more cost-effective casing; ensured it met AER design factors by using WellPlan software modeling. • Spent months in the field deploying new solutions with 100% success, including automated drilling, multilateral unconventional wells, long-reach fiber optics deployment, pressure gauge arrays, and water disposal wells.

    • Manager, Completions Engineering
      • Jan 2014 - Dec 2015

Led and developed the engineering and operations team that oversaw 30+ multi-well pads with an annual budget of $300M+. Prepared management reports, drilling budgets, forecasts, and KPI analyses.• Assembled and managed a completions team that helped double production for 4 consecutive years, from 5K+ boe/d to over 100K+ boe/d.• Reduced completions costs 30% by switching from foam to slickwater fracturing fluids and by using dissolvable plugs.• Directed HSE initiatives such as the Spill Reduction Strategy, which reduced environmental spills 20%.• Trained and coached team on completions operations, including hydraulic fracturing design and monitoring, coiled tubing, and wireline operations.

    • Completions Field Engineer
      • 2013 - 2014

Accountable for safe execution of 10+ multi-well PAD completions operations, which included service rig, wellhead, wireline, hydraulic fracturing, and coiled tubing.• Decreased hydraulic fracturing cost 10%+ by tailoring the frac schedule and reducing screenouts.• Monitored 5K+ in-field hydraulic fracturing stages with 95%+ proppant placement.• Created AFEs, completions programs, and CWOPs in accordance with industry recognized technical criteria and regulations to achieve project objectives in a safe and cost-effective matter.

    • Fracturing Technical Sales Engineer
      • 2011 - 2013

Managed and provided technical support to 6+ accounts with combined sales of $80M+ for hydraulic fracturing treatments covering Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. • Led fracturing software stimulation, cost estimates, and program creation for hydraulic stimulation.• Reduced completions costs 20%+ while increasing well productivity by switching from frac oil to water.• Implemented several new solutions in the field, including micro-seismic monitoring and frac diversion.

    • Fracturing Field Engineer & Supervisor
      • 2007 - 2011

Oversaw safe and proper operation of fracturing equipment, crew, and job execution. Monitored quality control measures on location.• Planned and supervised a frac crew for 400+ fracturing treatments with 90%+ proppant placement.• Consistently reduced non-productive time by minimizing screenouts and ensuring quality controls were met.• Supervised stimulation treatments, including slickwater, nitrogen, crosslink oil, water, and acid.• Awarded safest crew prize for having lowest HSE incident count in 2009 and 2010.
