I lead both shallow and deep water aerobics classes for members at the YMCA. I also serve as a backup for the silver sneakers and why not additional water aerobics class. My position requires me to create a new routine for each class, prepare a music playlist coordinating with that routine, ensure the safety of each class member while also encouraging and pushing them to physical wellness, and being available for the other instructors and staff if they need time off. I co-led a group sponsored by Cincinnati Children's Hospital for kids in the 80th percentile for being overweight. We developed programs to engage the children in warm up, cardio, play, and cool down and stretching exercises. We did a variety of different activities with the group members and encouraged them to set individual health and wellness goals while also having the parents and guardians invested in the journey with them. We maintained proper procedures as outlined by Cincinnati children's hospital for the group and ensured every group members safety per training through the YMCA. Show less

I worked as a volunteer for Girl Scouts Beyond Bars. I helped organize weekly troup meetings for girls whose mothers were in prison. In addition we, as a group, would plan bi-monthly trips to the one of three prisons in the state of Washington. One meeting we would work solely with the mothers and go over the plans for the meeting with them and offer support and encouragement for what they were going through. At the next meeting in the month, we would bring the daughters to the prison so they could see their mothers and have a meeting too. Throughout the year we would do Girl Scout activities with the girls as well such as special outings and selling Girl Scout Cookies. Show less
