My PhD work made use of large spatial and temporal datasets of the US west coast commercial fisheries to better understand how fishing impacts the environment and how this may change under novel management and/or climate change scenarios. Specifically I sewed together large, high dimensional, unstructured data sets to derive novel insights into how we can better manage for ecological and social sustainability in the commercial fisheries on the US West Coast. My PhD work at Princeton combined both theoretical modeling and data-driven statistical and machine learning approaches. Show less
