      • Sep 2023 - Present

Working in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police, I offer immediate crisis intervention and de-escalation to individuals accessing support from emergency services, with the goal to divert non-imminent risk mental health calls away from a police response and toward a more appropriate mental health resources. I collaborate with callers in order to de-escalate, assess safety risks, provide crisis intervention and client advocacy, and refer callers to appropriate community services. After completion of the call, I am responsible to provide clear and concise documentation, appropriate follow-ups and referrals, and collaborate efficiently with the Ontario Provincial Police Communications Officers.
