Sep 2017 - Oct 2022
Obtained a PhD in the laboratory of Professor John H. Seinfeld. Modeled the air quality of the Los Angeles Basin using regional-scale computer modeling. Built a model framework to represent the meteorology, emissions, and chemistry of the current Los Angeles atmosphere. Developed a chemical mechanism to represent the formation of secondary organic aerosol from consumer products in the Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) model. Contributed to multiple grant proposals. Obtained a PhD in the laboratory of Professor John H. Seinfeld. Modeled the air quality of the Los Angeles Basin using regional-scale computer modeling. Member of the Atmospheric Chemistry and Aerosol Branch of the EPA Office of Research and Development. Contributed to the development of an emissions inventory for consumer products. Analyzed the impact of individual consumer product species on secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation. Developed a condensed mechanism to represent the formation of SOA from consumer products. Senior capstone project in the Harvey Mudd College Engineering Clinic program. Built an energy systems model to compare energy efficiency in a fuel cell electric semi-truck and an internal combustion engine semi-truck. Proposed an optimal fuel cell electric semi-truck configuration. Team leader of the 5-person team in the spring term. Senior capstone project in the Harvey Mudd College Engineering Clinic program. Traveled to Laboratoire Interuniversitaire des Systèmes Atmosphériques (LISA) with Professor Lelia N. Hawkins. Collected aerosol-phase brown carbon samples from the CESAM cloud chamber using a Particle Into Liquid Sampler, a UV/Visible spectrometer, and a MOUDI Impactor. Led the data analysis using R, leading to a peer-reviewed publication. Traveled to Laboratoire Interuniversitaire des Systèmes Atmosphériques (LISA) with Professor Lelia N. Hawkins.
