These entailed evaluations of the investment strategies, tracking errors and risk-adjusted performance of the individual underlying equity and fixed income funds removed from, and added to, the underlying fund lineup to demonstrate the expected improvement in the risk/return profiles of the target date/target risk portfolios. • Contributed to the design, and directed the launch, of a private fund offering direct exposure to core commercial real estate. This fund was included as an underlying fund within the target date funds and served as a significant differentiator. • Directed the adoption of an innovative pricing structure for the target date funds allowing for their pricing to be set independent of the pricing of the underlying funds in which they invested. This provided the ability to maintain, or lower, the target date funds’ pricing without lowering the pricing of the underlying funds, preserving in excess of $300,000 annually in revenue. • Contributed to the design of a Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB) rider/option added to a deferred variable annuity. • Key contributor to the launch of Nuveen’s first target date collective investment trust (CIT) series.
