Returns – As most internships you start at the bottom and this was exactly how I progressed within Dazed as well; for 1 ½ month’s I was purely doing returns which is, I feel, one of the most important jobs as you must be organised and have everything in the right place and all correct to the docket. Chasing – Gradually as the fashion assistants began to trust me more they saw that I was reliable and I was able to help chase looks for the upcoming shoots and call in clothes. Styling – At Christmas last year when I had only been working 2 months I was given the opportunity to help be a stylist assistant to one of the Fashion Editors at Rankin’s studio. Fashion week- During fashion week it was hectic but amazing as I got to work behind the scenes at some of the shows and see what is was like getting everything ready from helping with getting clothes ready for the runway to dressing the models. 2008 - 2008
Two weeks full time work experience: the first week in news; and the second week within the production team. During my first week I was placed on production. This was working with the news team to find and research as much information as I could for that days news stories. Most of the news stories involved gossip columns and celebrity happenings. After a few days I was able to go to interviews and write questions for bands and singers. In my second week I was put into the deep end. I was given a channel and a budget that that channel had to work within to create a celebrity show. This involved countless meetings about who would be suitable celebrity for the channel and how the channel would portray them. This involved a lot of team work to ensure a successful result.
