I was the art director for The University of Edinburgh’s creative writing anthology, From Arthur’s Seat. For this publication, I took on many roles so as to gain experience in multiple facets of the publishing industry. I designed the book cover and using the design as the foundation, created a branding guideline for our various other assets. I typeset the entirety of the manuscript (~200 pages) which helped me gain a deeper degree of literacy in InDesign as this was my first time prepping a book for print. I learned organizational techniques and I swear by the best practice of character and paragraph styles! I also designed graphics for our social media campaign and even designed a label for a bottle of gin for our release party. It was a very well-rounded experience, but my proudest achievement was holding the anthology in my hands. Show less
