  Worked in the Group Finance IT team, initially on a short-term contract as a System Analyst to design and document a solution and was later appointed as the Project/Program Manager for MDS [Managed Data Store] and FATCA [Foreign Accountholders Tax Compliancy Act]. The purpose of MDS is a single point of reference for financial data definitions and ideally to be used by the entire group. FATCA entailed planning and coordinating the divisional activities across the group so that they could comply with the legislation. This included : identification of US Accountholders, changes to systems and business processes and creation of data files. It also included managing the development and testing of the IT solution to validate, merge, create, track & trace files according to SARS and the IRS specfications working to their fixed deadlines.
