  I work as an MLT in the microbiology lab. I work primarily in the set ups area where I prepare and plate various specimens for culture. I also run many rapid EIA and PCR tests. I often work late and weekend shifts where I am the only person in the lab. In these circumstances my critical thinking and task management skills have made me a very efficient and effective worker. I am also the lead tech for the CAP survey management. I make sure tests are properly received, ordered and assigned. Additionally I am the lab safety manager. I regularly go through and check expiration dates on all the various supplies in the lab. I also help make sure our MSD logs are up to date. Helping keep the lab storage areas clean and organized is also part of this job. Show less
