My role is to aid the student throughout their mainstream classes. I must simplify the instructions, explain the task, and help the student with any English language needs. This allows me to judge, assess and better the student’s language and provide feedback to their mainstream teachers. During my time at the school, I have also covered several EAL lessons and worked with students aged 11-16. This has been an eye-opening experience as the students are immersed in the British education system with all English speakers. I have had the opportunity to work with students with beginner, intermediate and advanced ability. My main focus is to better and develop the student’s vocabulary range, grammar and writing skills, and pronunciation. Show less
