The role is quite varied and had the following responsibilities:- Coordinating the liaison with healthcare professionals such as general practitioners and nurses in order to ensure our residents health and wellbeing- Arranging appointments and triaging for district nurse and GP rounds then ensuring actions are followed and service plans kept up to date and reviewed in relation to this- Performing monthly and 6 monthly care assessments on residents, reviewing care plans to ensure all information is person-centered and up to date- Ensuring medication is well managed through training and supervision of medication technicians, performing medication audits, ensuring stock of medication is sufficient and that monthly changeover of medication is seamless- Supporting the SCA on shift with advice and support when needed- Providing support to care coordinators and other managers as required- Looking at areas service can be improved and leading or supporting on implementing new projects- Performing risk assessments, root cause analysis and falls prevention- Checking and ordering of care supplies and managing a budget in order to do so

    • Senior Care Assistant
      • Oct 2016 - May 2018

I became a Senior Care Assistant with Sunrise at the end of 2016 after finishing my NVQ, becoming responsible for ensuring that our residents get the best possible care during my shifts, taking action on any incidents that occur and supporting all staff under my coaching to reach their potential. I undertook a Moving and Handling Trainer course in order to train and coach staff at Southbourne on the safe moving and handling of both animate and inanimate loads, as well as providing advice and new ideas on equipment usage and resident safety. I received additional training on the usage of PointClickCare's Careconnect systems for full resident assessments and building care plans as well as day to day usage on shift. As an SCA I have also been responsible for bringing in new ideas and leading projects to implement them.

    • Care Assistant
      • Nov 2014 - Oct 2016

At the end of 2014 I re-valuated my career plans and goals, I decided after much thought to follow my passion and ultimately move to a job where I would feel a lot more personally rewarded by what I do. On recommendation of a friend I joined Sunrise Senior Living as a Care Assistant. I enjoyed my work and highly valued the core principles of service at Sunrise. I was often supported with extra training and advancements in order to deliver the best possible care for our residents. I became trained on medications administration, dementia pathway and distressed behavior. Sunrise also enabled me to undertake and pass my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.

    • Client Services Manager
      • Oct 2013 - Nov 2014

At Bournemouth IT Solutions (BITS) I changed the direction of my job role. Rather then simply being behind the curtain performing repairs I wanted to put my other skills to use and found I enjoyed a customer based environment far more. At BITS I was responsible for meeting with all of our business clientele and new leads, ensuring we were meeting with their needs and keeping a happy and loyal customer base. I also worked front of house ensuring our residential repair customers were given the best possible service. In my spare time at BITS I kept up my skills on repairs and learned many new and advanced techniques and skills such as advanced data recovery and micro-circuitry repair from our highly skilled lead technician.
