I had the pleasure of working with Elliot on two software development projects and I was thoroughly impressed with his work ethic and technical abilities. Elliot was a joy to work with, always friendly and easy to communicate with. He brought a high level of knowledge to the table, but was also quick to learn and adapt to new challenges. Elliot's positive attitude and hardworking nature made him a valuable asset to the team. I would wholeheartedly recommend Elliot for any software development role. He would be an excellent addition to any team and I have no doubt that he will continue to excel in his new tech career.

As a Trainee Software Tester at Resonate, I collaborate with product teams in an Agile environment to help develop state-of-the-art railway traffic management software. My duties encompass devising thorough test plans and conducting a range of testing types, including Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), functional (APIs, databases, application functionality), and non-functional performance and exploratory testing. In my role, I utilise a suite of tools like Cypress, Selenium, and Cucumber to ensure effective and efficient testing. Additionally, I apply my skills in JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, and Java for various aspects of the testing process. Committed to enhancing software quality, I am proud to contribute to the safety and efficiency of the UK's railway industry. Show less

I was selected from a highly competitive pool of over 4,000 applicants to participate in a 16-week intensive bootcamp focused on full-stack development. Throughout the program, I acquired key skills utilising popular technologies such as JavaScript and React. Specific areas of focus included: • Fundamentals of JavaScript, API interaction, and Git/GitHub basics. • Server-side programming, databases, and testing with NodeJS, SQL, and PostgreSQL. • Agile practices, CI/CD, and React development. • Real-world project work, retrospective analysis, and deployment. • Advanced computer science concepts, platform engineering, and cloud deployment with AWS. • I also participated in a successful final 4-week team project to ideate, design, build and deploy a full-stack application using newly acquired skills and incorporating new technologies. Project management tools used were Figma, Trello, Notion, and Slack. Course projects: • Week 9 project: Led front-end development in an Agile project creating a full-stack application using React and a RESTful API. Presented to industry judges and successfully created a functional portal site for remote learning. • Week 12-16 project: Developed a budgeting application addressing the cost-of-living crisis utilising React, Next.js, Supabase, and PostgreSQL. Led front-end development, including functionality and styling, and served as a scrum leader for part of the project, receiving very positive feedback from my peers. Show less

As the project manager I worked on projects from start to finish, from client relations, design, logistics and the financial aspects, implementing plant designs into commercial and residential spaces. I was consistently complimented on my communication and relations skills, as well as my designs, bringing the clients visions to life. Boston Tea Party being one major client of which I completed multiple fittings with profit margins over 40%. Sports has had a huge impact on my life and something I consider very important. Moving to Oslo I felt limited in my ability to play rugby so decided in collaboration with some others to found the first LGBTQ+ inclusive rugby team in Norway. Creating a completely inclusive environment and safe space is most important within this team and I believe my skills, approachability and communication prowess helped to ensure this. Working directly with the Students Organisation for Sustainability and the National Health Service I completed an auditing course accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment. These skills were then used to audit and assess various NHS management groups on their levels of sustainability within a specific department and respective awards were given. This experience was very rewarding, it allowed an understanding of the efforts given to achieve a more sustainable workplace/organisation and the overarching effects that had. It also reinforced my professional communication skills whilst as well as learning new skills such i.e., auditing and assessing. Show less

9Trees CIC has been set up by a group of people determined to make a positive impact on the environment aiming to help others take a step toward reducing and offsetting their carbon footprint via tree planting. In the early stages of 9trees, I won an enterprise scholarship from the University of the West of England, awarding 9trees a grant and a business adviser. I then continued to help this organisation grow utilising my skills such as GIS mapping, helping the organisation succeed and have an impact on localised and global climate and biodiversity.
