PhD student, working in string theory. In physics, we create theories to describe the behaviour of particles. These are then tested by using them to make predictions about what should happen when particles collide, and comparing the results with experiments performed in places like CERN. The mathematics needed to make such predictions is extremely complex, and one approach to making it simpler is through string theory. It is this which I worked on.
