  I am currently working on two projects based at Northumrbia University, the first of which I am working under Dr Watermeyer and collaborators (Dr Butler; Sunderland University and Dr Parra; University of Strathclyde); my responsibilities are to assist with the validation of an online cognitive assessment that is suggested to be sensitive to preclinical Alzheimer’s disease. My primary responsibilities are to conduct literature searches, data inputting, collating research items, recruitment coordination, participant testing, data analysis and assisting in the writing of research reports.

  During my time working in the marketing department, I have learnt to work efficiently individually, with fellow students and staff as well as prospective students and parents. Ensuring that the university and psychology department was represented professionally was top on my priority list. Through this job I have gained invaluable interpersonal skills. Through being a caller, I have used a variety of software such as Connect and Open Touch to contact both home and international applicants as well as current students. Representing the university and HLS department by providing up to date information and advice ensuring that all GDPR procedures are adhered to. In my role as a Live Chat Operator, I developed skills by using Radius Chat to provide excellent customer service.

This opportunity was gained through the British Psychological Society Assistantship scheme.
