Plan, organize, and execute all philanthropy and service events for the Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority to benefit Reading is Fundamental and The Kappa Foundation. Events include two large philanthropy events, one reading-oriented community service event with local Richmond schools, and continuous fundraising for our philanthropy with smaller events, as well as fundraising for other organizations' philanthropies on campus. For our main event, Kappa Kourtside, we raised almost $6000 during a campus-wide tennis tournament and external fundraiser, and half of the proceeds were donated to one of our sister's father's foundation, the Michael B Finnegan Foundation, to create their first girls golf school.

Intern
-
Jun 2017 - Aug 2017
As an intern for Vermonters for Criminal Justice Reform, I had a range of smaller responsibilities, as well as three large-scale projects throughout the summer. On a day-to-day basis, I helped write briefs related to current initiatives that the organization was working on, and respond to letters coming from Vermont inmates. I learned about important issues facing Vermont's criminal justice system, as well as participated in meeting with local coalition partners to brainstorm the best policies and strategies to transition towards a more rehabilitative and restorative criminal justice system in the state. I had the opportunity to take charge of moving the office to a new location, which allowed me to have experience in administrative procedures of an office. I also was given the responsibility of learning how to use the database software Salsa CRM and Salsa Engage, and teaching the office how to use it as well as incorporating it into my daily work there. Lastly, I planned a fundraiser comedy show for the organization which took place at the end of the summer which allowed me to gain ample experience in the event planning area of non-profit work. As the educational component for my fellowship through the University of Richmond, I conducted and presented research on racial disparities in the juvenile justice system in an attempt to propose policy to ensure that all children receive equal justice under the law.

Casework Intern
-
Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
As an intern for Congressman Peter Welch at his Burlington office, I worked on a variety of tasks and projects related to casework and outreach in the state of Vermont. I completed research, prepared briefing materials, and attended policy related and community outreach events with the Congressman and staff. On a daily basis, I connected constituents that had inquiries related to legislative issues and casework with the Congressman and our office. I also answered phone calls from constituents, took down their messages, and wrote follow up messages after events and to respond to legislative questions on a regular basis. Lastly, I completed a project over the course of the internship to mimic the entire legislative process and presented my work to the office.
