During the three-day internship experience, I gained valuable knowledge from industry experts and connected with likeminded individuals. The skills sessions increased my understanding of ‘being a model professional’ and communicating in the workplace through email writing. The workshops have enabled me to draw skills such as collaboration, resilience, leadership and problem solving from my personal experiences for my CV and job applications.A work sample was completed, showing a great insight into working in the public sector. This included writing a draft submission to the Ministry of Tourism and Culture for a fictitious case study. In addition, a draft correspondence letter was written on behalf of the minister. It was great to hear from speakers on graduate programmes sharing their personal experiences about entering the sector.
