Michael Ciano
Since first working with her nearly a decade ago, anytime I have been in need of a creative leadership resource that is quick to adapt, a thought-partner with the ability to innovate, and a leader that can take initial direction and run a successful engagement independently, Ellie Krysl's name is always number one on my list. I have watched Ellie's career evolve from Senior Visual Designer to a Director level User Experience thought-leader, problem solving exceptionally difficult use cases, from DoD ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Recon) applications, to complex Data Visualization workflows, to elegant and groundbreaking UI solutions for Healthcare applications. A natural problem solver, Ellie has a firm grasp on UX methodology, from the requirements gathering stage, to iterating on wireframes and through to a final, highly polished, extremely attractive deliverable. Every client and developer that works with Ellie have joined in a chorus of praise for the quality of her work and how easy she is to engage with. Quite simply, Ellie will add to the value of any organization she is a part of. I've watched her contributions lead to successful acquisitions several times over. I cannot imagine a more quantitative metric than that.

Ellie has a superb ability to translate complex concepts into easy and intuitive user workflows. Not only is Ellie the epitome of a product design expert, but her contributions are thoughtful, precise, and always exceeded my expectations. When I am tasked to cooperate with Ellie, I find a professional and hard-working colleague with outstanding communication skills. I would welcome the privilege to work with Ellie again - especially since we were able to work together to completely redo and improve the theme of an existing application in just a few months! Any company would be extremely fortunate given the same chance to benefit from the impressive caliber that Ellie brings to her projects.

At Limina I work closely with clients throughout the UX process. During the visual design phase, I create robust, extensible design systems that incorporates any existing brand platform while still adhering to best practices and the specific needs of the product or project. I also provide guidance around the research, psychology and accessibility needs that should drive the design decisions being made. I have experience designing for Drupal, Wordpress, SharePoint (including the Modern Experience) and mobile. I have a strong understanding of WCAG and UI libraries like the U.S. Web Design System, Microsoft's UI Fabric and Google's Material Design. With Limina I have worked with large government agencies, large enterprise companies, within the medical field and with start-ups. Please feel free to contact with questions to just to get in touch. Chief Creative Officer

Jul 2014 - 2017
Bad Stella is a boutique creative agency specializing in intuitive and impactful design solutions and modern best practices in UX, UI, visual communication and brand creation/elevation. CEO Michael Ciano and Chief Creative Officer Ellie Krysl were first brought together to give an aging music industry brand new life. After a successful engagement, leading to an industry headline grabbing acquisition, the duo replicated that success, utilizing their complimentary expertise, for a revolutionary healthcare start-up, guiding the company from inception to public launch. Ciano and Krysl's winning collaboration continued from company to company and a pattern emerged. When established brands, and start-ups alike, needed to connect with their users and put their best before investors, Ciano and Krysl's knowledge, vision and expertise provided a conduit to success and increased valuation. After 4 years of collaboration and client wins, the team is formalizing their partnership with Bad Stella, launching late 2014. • Red Bull • MTV • Sonicbids • SxSW • par8o • Healthrageous! • JanSport • Spartan Race • John Hancock Funds • Warner/Chappell Music Publishing • Wharton Business School • Digitas Show less
