  Monart Drawing Studio has been serving the Arlington Heights and surrounding communities since December of 1995. As you walk through the front door you will experience the relaxing and nurturing environment that surrounds the students as they learn how to draw realistically. The philosophy of the school is centered around a positive, encouraging atmosphere that helps remove the fear and mystery of drawing. The younger students are taught using a step-by-step method created by Mona Brookes. Her philosophy is based upon the methodology described in her book "Drawing with Children", and she is the founder of Monart Institute. In this environment students are taught that there is no right or wrong way to draw. They are taught to recognize the 5 basic elements of shape and combine them to create realistic drawings. Just as a musician learns notes and scales in order to play an instrument Monart students learn the skills necessary to translate their perceptions onto paper. As the student matures, they move up to the Intermediate level to learn more about various media, techniques, and more detailed subject matter. The studio also offers Acrylic Painting. The Colors of Your Life coloring page classes are for adults. Monart Drawing Studio also offers off site classes in several venues. Show less
