Throughout this internship, I tracked the amount of transport losses within the Smithfield Hog Production North Division and determined ways to reduce these issues. I worked to improve market hog accuracy over the hot scale to reduce variance in producer payments. I also determined whether or not the Livestock Department was efficiently filling Butina baskets.
