APOYO is a Not-For-Profit Organization that is committed to interrupting the cycle of poverty in central Mexico by providing certain skills, motivation, and guidance to individuals so that they may become financially independent for life. With my patient care background and Spanish language education, I was able to assist in teaching English language courses with a focus on home health care terms and vocabulary within a home health care aide career education program. The program trained Spanish speaking individuals to provide necessary skills as a home health aide to residents of care facilities or within home settings. I was able to travel and meet residents in rural settings for community outreach sessions. Show less
